June 8th, 2022 – Heater element price increase

As of June 9th, there will be a small price increase in our heating elements. Heating elements use Nichrome wire, the supply of which has fluctuated drastically through the pandemic and in response to current geopolitical instability. While some U.S. Manufacturers had stockpiled sufficient quantities of materials like nichrome wire before the current period of market instability, many simply did not. As a result, there is a shortage of materials, particularly this wire, that is causing the price increase.

While we do not like to raise prices, we don’t know any other way to continue offering them without a small increase. TRC Industries has held off raising prices, with the hopes that it was a temporary shortage of wire. In the mean time, we appreciate your understanding. To get the most out of your heating elements, avoid over-tightening the set screw on the heater blocks, and check often to make sure lead wires are not rubbing against the side walls of the machine.
